Understanding Empaths

There are more empaths in the world that we know, some of them are unaware of their gift altogether. Most of the times even awakened empaths find it difficult to express themselves. This often leads to misunderstandings and conflicts causing even more confusion in their lives.

A lot of my friends who were not aware of my sensitivity used to perceive me as 'rude' until I explained them things from my side. I'm attempting to do the same here hoping that it will bring a clear understanding of empaths and their behavior.

Empaths are very caring, they care for everyone not because they're trying to help, but because they feel what other person is feeling. This energy sensitivity sometimes becomes indifference when pain increases. Many people call it 'shut down mode' because they shut down their emotions completely.

At this time they may appear as extremely rude and uncaring, even hateful at times. But that's just an outer shell, shut down mode is the loudest cry of an empath. It means that they're on the verge of breaking down. They just want their friends and family to understood and cared for, don't try to explain anything to them. Best thing will be to give them a hug and let them know that you understand.

Empaths find it difficult to express their emotions because they are processing a lot of feelings at the same time. They're not slow learners, they're observing a lot more than you can see. They are giving and receiving a lot of energy at a very fast rate. Do you think it's easy?

It exhausts them, they prefer to stay alone because they find crowds exhausting. They will find different ways to express how they feel about crowded areas. Over the time they develop a resistance towards crowds and parties. This resistance can manifest in different ways, I call myself anti social at times. ;)

Another pattern I've noticed many times is that they will try their best to not follow the rules and systems. I had a hard time in school and college, rules and regulations were restrictions to my creativity. What I wanted was far from formal education. However I agree that Formal education is important, but it can never replace the creative genius within.
Empaths are creative, even if it's a little thing they want to enjoy doing it. They know that happiness comes from within and that's the most important thing for them. If you notice they are very simple people, all they ask for is a bit more support and understanding from their loved once because clearly, it's not easy being a sensitive person in the society that doesn't care about emotions.

  1. I guess am an empath, but I find it hard to fully express my self, except for silient thoughts and poetry. Seeking if people will understand my paths of life, which I agree is not ultimate, but should work in harmony with the will of others around and beyond me. But this will give a little now to study about empaths.

    1. I completely understand, everyone has a unique path and you do not need to know everything in order to start. Follow your resonance and keep learning. If someone is not comfortable with your path, it has more to do with them than you. Love your life and it will love you back.

  2. Nice post! It must not be easy to be a sensitive person so you are right in saying that sensitive people should be given a bit more support and understanding. As an empath, how do you cope with it?

    1. Thanks Lorii,

It's easy, I have accepted myself as I am. I don't try to find my strength in being tough, I find my strength in my emotions. My days are planned accordingly, having a supportive friend circle is also very helpful.
